Download Kids Audio Books

Being able to download kids audio books is great if you have children.  My wife and I have two wonderful kids.  Our daughter, Lindsey, is 14 (going on 25!) and our son Connor is 12.  (Yes, a teen and a budding teen…if you are a parent you can certainly feel my pain!)  They are a lot of fun (most the time) and like my wife and I they really love audio books.  With the advent of iPods you can often find them listening to a new audio book.

We love the fact that we can download kids audio books.  My wife and I have been doing this for years now.  Since we both enjoy audio books so much we figured why not download kids audio books for Lindsey and Connor.  Audio books for kids are a great way to increase your children’s education.  It’s been long known that reading helps improve a child’s vocabulary, exercises his imagination, and increases his knowledge on a variety of topics.  Books are a great way to learn about the world.

Lindsey and Connor are really active kids so for them, being able to download kids audio books onto their iPods is perfect.  They can listen to their favorite book while riding the bus, cleaning their room, or just hanging around at home.  Of course being the horribly strict parents that we are (at least in their eyes!) we have to first approve any audio book that they want to download.  Fortunately they usually make very good choices and we rarely have to say no when they go to download kids audio books.

There is a great selection to choose from when you go to download kids audio books.  You can get the age old classics like Grimm’s Fairy Tales and Aesop’s Fables. You can also select many entertaining non-fiction books that cover topics such as animals, science and nature.  Our kids especially love fantasy fiction books such as the Harry Potter series, which we have listened to as a family.  If you want to download kids audio books there will be plenty no matter what your child’s tastes.

A couple of famous audio books that my kids loved when they were really young are Dr. Seuss’s Cat in the Hat series and Berenstain Bears by Jan and Stan Berenstain. (This book is a must when you download kids audio books!)   My daughter would listen to the Cat in the Hat books over and over and over.  This was the story of a very “human” cat in a very tall, goofy hat that was always up to some sort of crazy antic.  Lindsey was only four years old when she first heard Dr. Seuss’s story, and she would just sit and laugh and clap every time I put it on for her.  She loved cats so she just could not get enough of this story.  In fact, she was always trying to put a little doll hat on our tabby, who, needless to say, was not too thrilled about that idea!  But she was determined to have her own “cat in the hat”!  My wife and I have some great pictures of her with our cat.

The Berenstain Bears was my son’s favorite.  This book is a great story about a community where everyone is a bear.  The main characters are a mother and father bear with their three children.  They each have very distinct personalities and the story lines beautifully address common family themes in a manner which is both fun and entertaining.  There are several books in the Berenstain Bears series and I highly recommend them if you have young children and are looking to download kids audio books.  I have no doubt Connor will have his own kids listening to the Berenstain Bears one day when he is a dad himself!

If you have kids of any age you definitely want to download kids audio books.  They are great for your kids to listen to on their own, as well as perfect for an evening of some family time.  Once you download kids audio books you can access them any time.  They won’t wear out or get lost, and they are especially great for long drives.  They will educate and entertain your children at the same time!  Here are some favorites:

• Henry Huggins, by Beverly Clearly
• Horton Hears a Who, by Dr. Seuss
• Harry Potter Series, by J.K. Rowlings
• Little House on the Prairie, by Laura Ingalls Wilder
• The Aardvark Who Wasn’t Sure, by Jill Tomlinson
